Bees, Caffeine and CBD

Honeybees are very much attracted to coffee plants and have been known to perform a dance in the form of a figure eight to signal to other bees, the direction of the coffee plant.

More recently, scientists have discovered that bees, the pollinators of our world, enjoy caffeinated beverages as much as their human counterparts.

When farming operations release commercially raised bees into open fields, some bees have been observed straying from their pollinating duties to test for food sources in adjoining fields of wildflowers.

Using robotic flowers laced with the scent of strawberries, scientists from the University of Greenwich in Britain gave commercially raised bees a mixture of sugar water and caffeine. The caffeinated bees set an immediate course for the strawberry scented flowers and it appears that the caffeine enhanced their motor skills.

The use of caffeine in commercial bee pollinating may assist in teaching bees what plants to pollinate, which will increase their efficiency and boost our food supplies.

If you enjoy the flavor of coffee, but not the jittery side effects, try mixing in CBD Oil. CBD will modulate the effects of adenosine, the neurotransmitter in the brain, which keeps you awake and alert while still stimulating serotonin, the neurotransmitter that provides the sense of well-being and calm.
